If you are wildly in love with our planet like myself then you know how inspiring it is to learn about solutions to our ecological challenges. That is why so many people are talking about the endless applications of mushrooms to heal a wide range of personal, societal, and ecological ailments. Nature is infinitely intelligent. Fungi can remediate toxic waste, cleanup oil spills, capture carbon to assist in balancing our climate, turn radiation into fuel, rebuild depleted soil, decompose plastics, save the bees, and be used as medicine for the human body. That’s why you will be delighted to experience the June 26 Future is Fungi Online Conference with a collection of the world’s top experts in this exciting and emerging field of research.

Full disclosure… this is NOT a paid writing gig for me. When I first learned about the event I was eager to tell my friends and readers because it is a huge source of excitement and inspiration for anyone who cares about personal health and the well-being of our planet’s ecosystems. It is fair to say that the popular film Fantastic Fungi by Louie Schwartzberg has ignited a global movement highlighting many of the greatest discoveries of our time. If you have not seen the film I recommend that you at least take 2 short minutes to see the trailer below.

“Schwartzberg’s film quickly proves to be one of the year’s most mind-blowing, soul-cleansing and yes, immensely entertaining triumphs.” ~ Matt Fagerholm, RogerEbert.com

“The Fungi Foundation is a global organization that explores the Fungi to increase knowledge of their diversity, promote innovative solutions to contingent problems, educate about their existence and applications, as well as recommending public policy for their conservation.” -Fungi Foundation Mission Statement

The Future is Fungi Online Conference: The Fungi Foundation is dedicated to supporting this research and also provides an educational outreach to help others recognize the importance of fungi in our world. Mycelial networks in the forest connect individual plants together and transfer water, carbon, nitrogen, as well as other essential nutrients and minerals. Fungi Foundation does a similar thing in human networks by helping connect individuals with each other, providing essential resources, and inspiring the general public to become more participatory in this exciting global movement.

Presenters at The Future is Fungi

The online conference is June 26 and is open to anyone who is interested in this vast subject matter. The event is structured so that patrons can enroll for 3 different tiers of access to the program depending on their interests. A long list of luminaries will be presenting on diverse topics ranging from healthy cooking with Sophia Roe, cultivating gourmet mushrooms, psychedelic-assisted therapy, bioremediation of ecosystems and more. All of these incredible presenters are coming together to support the first nonprofit dedicated to the fungi in the world. This is truly an act of love and service for everyone involved.

Citizen-scientist and entrepreneur, William Padilla-Brown has been successful at making mushroom activism accessible to average citizens. So his presentation will be inspiring to anyone interested in mushrooms but wondering how to get involved locally. Meanwhile Paul Stamets, who is one of the world’s leading authorities on the topic, has a reputation for leaving audiences spellbound with his down-to-earth storytelling. There will even be a virtual after-party hosted by actress/activist Nathalie Kelley (pictured below).

Mushrooms and mycelial networks show us how interconnected all of life is. More than that they remind us that each of us has an important role to play in our community networks to disseminate information, support each other’s growth, and maintain harmony so that we can all thrive. There is an inherent intelligence in nature that also dwells within each of us. These presenters will give you the tools to tap into this perennial wisdom and leverage it to create a vibrant and thriving life. The conference will also connect you with a supportive community of individuals who are dedicated to creating a better world by harnessing the creative power of nature.
