Uncorked, Lightning in a Bottle Erupts With Colorful Sparks
It is an inevitable natural phenomena each year at this time that spring comes to a boil and overflows with summer celebrations. In all expressions of art, culture, and music, there is a beautiful dance between tension and resolve, pressure and release. Festivals, road-trips, and camping adventures are usually preceded by a frantic push to complete chores and tie up loose ends while excitement and anticipation build. This is a journey of exploration, of becoming, of community, of renewal. For many thousands of people each year on this weekend the road leads to the Lightning in a Bottle Festival in Bradley California.
Lightning in a Bottle is a popular California Festival that is redefining fun by incorporating the best of inspirational talks, educational programs, and indigenous wisdom with electronic dance music, live art, and immersive experiences. Inspiration, personal growth, and an experience of heart-centered community make this event unlike any in the world. -Huffington Post

Even if this festival isn’t on your list of events this year, you will be able to join in on various livestreams from workshops at the Compass via Unify on Facebook. You can also listen while you cruise by tuning in to the Lightning in a Bottle 2018 Artists Playlist on Spotify! On Sunday evening at 6:30 pm PDT, there will be a globally synchronized meditation broadcast at this link. We encourage you to drop-in wherever you are and join us while we focus our energies together as one human family to bring coherence, healing, and positive transformation during this epic moment on Planet Earth.

Much in the same way we see Hawaii Island erupting now to create new land along ocean shores, people everywhere are recognizing that we live in a time of immense change. How do we greet that change with love and gratitude instead of fear? Sunday’s meditation is hosted by Patrick Kronfli, and focuses on Awakening Your Inner Warrior.
There are old stories and beliefs within us that no longer serve where we need to be traveling as a species. NOW is a time to honor these beliefs and release them so that we can move into a higher realm of collective consciousness. Are YOU ready?

You may be wondering why a large music festival is holding a global meditation event. Lightning in a Bottle is very special in many ways because there is a deep focus on community, education, conscious-living, and indigenous wisdom. We can thank Eve Bradford, and Isis Indriya along with the whole LIB production team for carving out a space for the sacred at this event. The community center within Lightning in a Bottle is called The Compass. The guiding principles for this year’s programming are:
- Creating a culture of belonging
- Bridge-building between movements
- Galvanizing the activist potential of festival culture
The core intention of the Compass is to offer high caliber immersive education while focusing all of the incredible energy generated at LIB by giving people inspiring and accessible ways to carry their experiences out beyond the festival. -Eve Bradford

Farm-to-table dining and organic food vendors allow one to experience healthy eating at reasonable prices. The Learning Kitchen teaches classes to help novices become conscious chefs while permaculture experts teach people how to grow their own food. Self-reliance, sustainability, and the interconnectedness between all beings is a central theme that is reflected from one end of the festival to the other. This is where people come to experience solutions and experiment with endless possibilities in a laboratory of creative culture. Music echoes from multiple stages separated by swimming opportunities and tent villages.
Each festival has its’ own special flavors, and there is a growing sense of collaboration between producers to evolve this cultural magic. Lightning in a Bottle continues to set a great example of where we are heading collaboratively as a species. Festivals are a great way to model an emergent global community that celebrates life, and honors the sacred connections between humans and the land.

If you have never been to Lightning in a Bottle, then you should put it on your schedule for next year. If you will be there this year, then come look for me at The Compass and let’s conspire to inspire creatively. Be sure to visit the website, and follow along on instagram using the #lib2018. Special thanks to everyone who pours so much love and beauty into making this weekend erupt with colorful sparks.
